If I were to say, “Life is a matter of heaven or hell and who you’re taking with you,” what would be the first thing you think of? For an unbeliever, this question can cause serious anxiety and doubt about the future, while at the same time, if you are a believer in Christ, you probably feel comfort and peace because you know with certainty that you will be spending eternity in Heaven. But what about the second part of hat statement? Who are you taking with you?
The things we strive for in this life mean nothing in the next--money, cars, property, prestige, popularity, position--you can't take it with you . . . but when it comes to relationships, that's a different story. You see, our relationships can last for eternity! Our friends, our family, our neighbors--they can come with us! Don't read too much into what I'm saying here--nobody knows exactly what our "relationships" will look like in heaven (read Matthew 22:23-33), but we do know that when we share the love of Christ with others, we are spreading seeds that God can make grow into true faith in Christ, which at the End results in eternal life in Heaven.
So with that in mind, which friends, family members, neighbors, co-workers, and acquaintances do you want to see in heaven--and what are you doing about it? In addition, who are the people who have already passed from this life into the next that you most look forward to seeing in heaven? It's going to be an AMAZING reunion, so let's do all we can now to make sure that those we come into contact with in this life get to enjoy the next . . .
