Have you ever taken a “leap of faith?”
It’s hard... really hard. Letting go of control is not something we mere mortals do easily, often because we forget we are mere mortals. We forget that we cannot see or control the future. Fear of the unknown can easily cripple us, causing us to make decisions based on insecurity. We put all our money into our savings, our 401Ks, our retirement plans, thinking that this is a wise use of our earthly wealth. I’m not saying that those things are NOT a wise use of your earthly wealth, but did you take a leap of faith first?
Fear of the unknown is overcome when we remember who controls the future . . .
You have been challenged by the Lord Almighty to take a leap of faith, and in turn, challenge HIM!
Malachi 3 says:
“But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’
“In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” (NIV)
Are you robbing God? Are you holding back from giving your best, fearing what the future may hold? We have been challenged to let go of our self-centered grip on controlling our own future, and instead take a leap of faith, and let the Lord Almighty be in control (because he is anyway).
Not only does the Lord promise to provide what you NEED, but he promises to “throw open the floodgates of heaven,” pouring out so much blessing that your heart will no longer have room to store the treasures of this world . . . because it’s overflowing with the treasures of heaven.
Test Him . . . JUST TO SEE.
